Child Care in Acton

| Hello, I have been in the childcare field as a "live out nanny" for over 15 years for various families around North Halton Hills. I have an ECA diploma (with honours), CPR/First Aid training current and a current police clearance check completed Sept 2023. I have a good, reliable working vehicle. As well, I am a mom to a 17 year old. Currently I am working in a local daycare. I have also worked in the kitchen as a cook for three years I have my current police clearance, my food handling certificate. I have a degree in Child and Youth Studies, as well as an extension diploma of Children's Mental Health. I focus mainly on optimal health: specifically with self esteem, emotional intelligence, and positive self talk. However, a lot of mental health stems from physical health, and thus physical activity and proper nutrition are key as well. I previously lived in Calgary, AB before moving to the Waterloo Region, and finally settling down in the beautiful town of Acton. I believe in: having a caring environment, learning through play, healthy meals, routine weeks, and exposure to community settings (libraries, early year's centres, learning programs etc). I am looking to care for children in my home (or yours) who attend MSB school. I have one daughter who is six, and I'm looking for families who are interested in helping their children succeed, grow, and love life. I am walking distance to MSB. I utilize programs in the community and have taken children to swim lessons, gymnastics, kindergarten readiness programs, splash pads, library programs, and more all within my home daycare (of course depending on age.)

| Hello. My name is Megan, and I am 21 years old. In June of 2018, I married my high school sweetheart, and we have been very much enjoying this new chapter of our life together since then. In 2017, I graduated from Sheridan College with an Early Childhood Education diploma. For over a year now, I have been working in a child care centre, and have enjoyed it so much. I have experience with all age groups, but you will usually find me in our infant room. Although working with children can be a challenge and is stressful at times, the rewards of it far outweigh the challenges. I love the field I am in, and I can wholeheartedly say that I chose the best profession for myself.

| I come from a big family and have had to raise and care for many children, a task I have alway enjoyed. I love children and I love animals. I am a recent graduate of Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Professionally (and pre-covid) I work in the Live Theatre Industry as a technician which has allowed me to cultivate strong skills in competency, spontaneity, attention to detail, and creativity. I love art, games, music, building and crafting and whilst being super dynamic in personality, I am very responsible and trustworthy. I have taught and coordinated workshops for children in grades 8-12, I have tutored children in French and English from grades 3-12, I have taught and supervised children in Sunday school for ages 1 to 14, I have taught visual arts to children in a theatre based summer camp for the City of Brampton, I have babysat for a variety of children ages ranging from 2 to 14. I am also a great house keeper and organizer and I have had many years first hand attending to special needs children.
