Special Needs Care Jobs in Vancouver

Looking for someone with experience working with adult with complex special needs to provide some respite care on weekday afternoons from about 2-4 pm. Ideally this would require having a driver's licence, to be able to pick up from day program, go for an afternoon activity, like a walk outside or in the mall, have a snack, and then drive them home. The care is for a 48-year old male non-verbal adult with cerebral palsy, with complex behaviour challenges. The caretaker must be patient, and be very calm and kind. They will need to walk while holding their hand to prevent falls or injuries. May start any date.

To cater to her needs, feeding, hygiene, play time, bed time and all while I am away at school

She is really sweet and follows directions easily she needs help to get to washroom, wash hands, feeding and putting her into bed. Other then that she likes to be watching her “monster inc” and using her iPad. She can not walk but is able to walk with support she can crawl very well she knows how to go up and down stairs on her own with supervision. She understands everything but speaks very little, she knows sign language. If you wanted to see her before you take this job I am okay for you to meet her .

Looking for a Respite provider for our 4-year-old who is visually impaired, developmentally delayed and has mobility issues. Looking for 8-10 hrs per week, ideally on Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoon (between 11 am - 3pm). Job duties includes some personal care (cleaning, help with dressing up), some invention support (playtime, walking practice with a walker, etc.). Experience working with special needs kids would be an added asset. First aid/CPR certification and Criminal Background check required. Pay can be negotiated based on experience.

Hi there, I'm a single mom, looking for a warm caregiver for my highly verbal, 5 yr-old boy, who loves all types of vehicles & imaginative play! He will enjoy time with an attentive person who will follow his lead, as well as challenge him in gross & fine activities. He was recently diagnosed as being on the ASD spectrum & has some sensory modulation challenges; but loves to jump & engage in some rough & tumble play to have a fun workout in home :) He has a team of OT, physio & other specialist appts weekly & just started Kindergarten, so working in some academics would help too. Kiddo attends a self-directed online school so times are very flexible. They are sociable, verbal, and a lot of fun. We would love someone to help organize their learning goals, cook a meal with them (Hello Fresh meal for eg), go to the pool, walk the dog, etc. Specific skills or higher education are not required, just someone who can support my kiddo's journey with enthusiasm and kindness.

Its just difficult for him to be left unsupervised as he likes to eat. note our location, very south west Vancouver in an area called Southlands. Given the shifts, it does not suit someone who needs to commute a long distance. Having a car would help. rate range from $20 to $25 per hour. A 3 hour shift, 3.30 to 6.30 pay $25 per hour. The rate of $25 applies to a typical 3 hour shift during the week. occasionally, for a longer day, say 6 to 8 hours, a rate of $20 per hour. That includes school days off etc.
