I have not officially worked as a babysitter, however, I am experienced with looking after children. In highschool, I worked at Build-A-Bear. An essential skill I developed was communicating with children in a fun but professional manner. Especially during birthday parties, we were taught to use positive reinforcement and difficult-behavior management.
For my university course, a subject required us to conduct a 5-week placement in a school where we planned lessons and looked after children for an afternoon.
From these experiences, I have become adept in behavior management strategies such as individual/ group reinforcement, clear communication, and (most importantly) establishing mutual respect with the kids.

Hey families, I am a professional nanny and qualified early childhood educator currently available for part-time or casual childcare, either day time nannying or evening babysitting.
I have nine years' experience working across New Zealand and Australia as a sole charge nanny and qualified daycare educator. I have experience with infants from twelve weeks through to teenagers, as well as assisting as a mother's helper with new-borns from day one. I currently have a little girl who is fast approaching her 2nd birthday, I started caring for her when she was just 8 months old. Once normal life resumes we will get back to our busy schedule of Gymbaroo, beach adventures, gymnastics and her favorite place, Inflatable World. I have an Associate Diploma in Chilcare, completed by 1994. I have worked as an Assistant in Kindergarten and Daycare.
I trained as a kinder gym Coach in 2001.
I also worked as a Playgroup Coordinator for Family Daycare in Cairns and on the GoldCoast around 2003. I also have worked in After School Care Programs.
The last 10 years I worked as a Nanny.
I found this enjoyable, being my own boss in a sense, but working alongside parents, doing Pick Ups and Drop Offs from School, Kindergarten and Childcare Centres. I did light housekeeping, keeping the house tidy and some washing and folding and often feeding the children, being able to get something from the freezer and adding vegetables or salad. I always did craft with the children and outings on the holidays.
We also did puzzles and played Board Games. It was always fun.
We also would chill out and watch a movie later in the day.
