After more than four years, our highly-appreciated housekeeper is returning to her home country. We offer a friendly, flexible and ideally long-term opportunity where our existing housekeeper can teach you the role for a few weeks before she leaves. Currently she works between 10:00 am and 1:30 pm each weekday, but there is some flexibility provided that the work happens while our children are at school (typically 8:00 am to 3:30 pm on school days). The role itself comprises the typical assortment of housekeeping tasks such as washing, ironing, bins, running the dishwasher, putting away items, tidying up, light cleaning such as mopping the floors (we also have a cleaner each Monday so they take care of most heavy cleaning then), putting away groceries, changing towels and bed sheets, tidying up, maintaining the paved areas (specifically removing the leaves), watering pot plants, occasionally preparing a light lunch for children if they are home that day (eg noodles and peeling a vegetable or piece of fruit), sorting drawers and cupboards, wiping out the pantry and fridge when needed, throwing out expired items, the occasional window clean when it's needed etc. It is expected that you either have some experience with housekeeping, be it from past paid work or simply your maintaining your own home.
