e chose Streamside after careful research, and placed her next door in Memory Care. We were very pleased with the care she received. We were celebrating her 87th birthday, and I told her I wanted to do something special for her but I was having a hard time coming up with something. Why don't you bring our saddle and a waffle pad, and sleep on the floor alongside of my bed? Ruth shared that she though it was time to call hospice. She said when you have a phD in English and can't finish a sentence, cant finish a simple prayer it is time to quit being a milestone around your neck. We checked a couple other places in Nampa and Meridan and we found that this place was number one! Within a couple days Ruth was doing exercising, in the bathroom she was pulling herself to a standing position and than sitting down in her wheelchair. Another week and she was going the length of the hall praying for the residents by name in every room. We had the best year of our lives and it was year 71. She did her best to teach me to listen and she was successful. She told me if I had learned to listen earlier she would have encouraged me to run for Wayne Mortises Senate seat. He was the independent Senator who served Oregon so well and I was on his Portland committee. There are so many benefits, there would not be enough paper. Management philosophy, we were treated like customers, not like patients. The food and service is very good and the Streamside Family makes me want to be everybody's Papa! The VA has me classified for independent living, but my choice is to go to heaven from room 52!
