This is response to the previous rating about her dads stay after amputation- this long review of the nursing home and staff- I don't even know how u could take the time to write- please remember GUILT is responsible for ur anger!! U should have kept ur dad with u!!! You are quick to blame everything for ur dads health- why would u not care for him ?? Society has allowed people to put their loved ones in a home but are not willing to care for them at home???? Not one nurse helped?? YOU didn't help!! U are the daughter- why didn't he stay with YOU? Very opinionated!!! However if u would have just taken care of ur family u would have all of this guilt!!! Let me guess- u had to work? Kids? No time? Your Fault for choosing over your own father?!?! Did u dad put u in a home to be raised?? No I am sure he raised u with the family- but u couldn't do it so u put him in a home!!! Don't bash everyone else when it's only the fault of yourself!!! Guilt brings anger!!! U can continue to blame the world but no body cares - CHANGE ur self

Part of Catholics Health Services- Really??????? If I could give this negative stars, I would. The experience my family and I had with facility was a nightmare. We had a family member who had just had a leg amputation six days prior transferred from University Hospital (also a terrible facility) to St. Anthony's for "rehab". They ignored all my warnings of him having delirium (due to strong meds and a long stay at the hospital). The nurses were unfriendly, had no empathy or professionalism. There was only one nurse, Jose, who did show these traits. Sadly, he was never his nurse, but was willing to jump in and help since he saw the level of incompetency that surrounded us. The patient was lost, hallucinating and thought he still had his leg. I pleaded with the staff to monitor him but since the nurses refused to sit with him or constantly check up on him, their solution was to strap him to a wheelchair with a belt and sit him by the nurses station, disoriented, holding his amputated leg on display for everyone to see. This is a man that less than 10 days ago had part of his body amputated and this is the support he gets from this hospital!! A Catholic hospital, no less. They take great pride having a huge picture of Pope Francis in the lobby. If he only knew what a mockery they are making of the Catholic religion and the principals he lives by like compassion and mercy.
He was healing well until, despite all my warnings about his mental state, they were careless and he fell off the bed TWICE. This is when his stump got infected. Unfortunately, he needed to go back to University hospital and have another surgery with a possibility of having to amputate above the knee. Thank God it didn't get to that. The staff at St. Anthony denied that this had anything to do with the falls (at least the ones thy admitted to us) but later on it was confirmed by several doctors that this was the cause of his infection.
When my mother and I went to pick up his things from the room he was staying at, they lack of empathy was so obvious that not ONE nurse had the decency to ask how he was doing. As a matter of fact, when we passed the nurses station on our way back down, one of them yelled at us from the nurse's station to ask if we were certain that we had taken all his things with us. I am not sure how these people sleep at night. I still have a question. What physical therapy did they provide for 9 days to someone who was so disoriented and with an infected wound? They obviously just wanted to charge the insurance as much as they could. Disgusting! I would never recommend this place to anyone.
