I am Kristen, the founder of The Modern Scholar. After graduating with a B.A. in Psychology, a minor in Child Development and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, I began working in the classroom. I was a teacher for over a decade when I decided to focus on creating The Modern Scholar. As a teacher, I saw that the education system was lacking in resources when it came to experienced and dedicated tutors. I created The Modern Scholar in order to provide parents with a tutor who sees their child as an individual and teaches them accordingly.

Kristen is a very dedicated teacher. She spent the time to get to know my son and know his learning style. He has been working with Kristen once a week on math and science and his test scores are already improving. We would highly recommend Kristen!
