Our puppy received a bite which required 2 stiches while at Dogtopia. These things happen when dogs are playing, it is unavoidable, what is upsetting is the reaction of the company. The staff admitted to finding blood on our puppy in the morning, however the manager did not notify us; once we saw the open wound at 5pm and confronted them, they denied it happened, and accused us of lying. They said 'a scab must have fallen off she already had'. We took our puppy to the emergency vet that night for 2 stitches, they confirm this was, obviously, not scab related. When we asked them to review the footage to confirm the bite, the manager admitted to FALLING SLEEP while she reviewed it because it was boring. She also admitted 2 aggressive dogs were trying to mount ours and while she was showing signs of discomfort, the staff did not intervene, as is their policy to do so.
The district manager also noted that the owners did not care to know about of be involved in these matters. If the management had acknowledged and said 'we apologize, I hope you puppy is ok' we would still be going there, however their actions left us disgusted. I do not recommend anyone leave your dogs here.
Please note: We were not reimbursed for the stitches and had to keep the puppy home for weeks while she healed and then find a new doggy daycare due to this event. Trusting your Dog to this place can be costly in many ways.
