My dog had a catheter in and was coming for a second opinion and we were turned AWAY! If I could give zero stars I would. AJ is the office manager and she is kind, professional and good- but that is where I stop. This facility was my dog's vet office for the last 4 years of this life. A few weeks ago, he began having seizures and we were told he likely had a brain tumor. He was seen by another vet office for this diagnosis as it was an emergency we were out of town at the time. He was under strict 24 hour care and was released to us so we could travel home and take him to his own vet. I had all the medical records transferred and called and spoke to AJ to schedule the appointment for a second opinion and the removal of this catheter. I made a mistake on the appointment time and arrived 30 minutes late. My husband carried our boy into the office and we waited only to be SENT AWAY! Our dog is a boxer, they are not small dogs and when the little girl receptionist saw him with a catheter in his leg, looking drugged and being carried, she didn't think to act with any level of concern. The vet was even worse. She was unwilling to make any room in her schedule and didn't even come out to explain the problem. It was just a simple- can you come back tomorrow. I was dumbfounded at the lack of care, compassion and basic intellect that was being shown to us. I demanded our records and went to an emergency clinic immediately. It was the best thing for him because he received better care there in his last few weeks then this vet could have ever faked. AJ was the only one from the office brave enough to call and offer an apology for our treatment. The vets excuse was she was not told the critical status when she denied us a slot. My problem with that is she was supposed to be our second opinion with records sent at least a day before for review. A second opinion requires effort on a doctor's part and she clearly had done NONE of her job.
Our boy has passed and I find it hard to breathe without him but I wanted to share my story to make sure no one else goes through the type of callous treatment we received at his most vulnerable. That receptionist and vet should be ashamed of themselves for not showing compassion or using an ounce of intellect. I do NOT recommend this office.
