Hi my name is Nancy. I do tutoring inside our church's facility in the city of Brea, near the Brea Jr. High and High School. I have enjoyed meeting families and tutoring students. I am also working with adults and teaching computer skills to them. However, lately it seems I'm attracting junior high and high school age. I do work a lot with younger kids (ages 6-10) in our church's kids church. Also, adultsregul confide in me for computer consulting needs. My rates are very affordable! My base rate is $30 an hour. However, if you are participating in the after school tutoring daily, then I am pleased to offer you a lower rate. Also, if more than one family member is receiving tutoring, I do offer family rates and discounts. I am not new to teaching. I have my Master of Science in Education and have taught for a number of years in the post-secondary arena. I now work at the church and take a break in the afternoon to do tutoring here. I normally start new students off by administering a diagnostic test to help identify learning gaps and to get to know the student better. While the student is going through testing I do not charge the hourly tutoring rate. I charge a flat $50 rate for student testing. It does take several hours to complete the new student testing process. Our curriculum is the best! We use the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum to bridge and fill in any gaps. I create an individualized plan for each student. Most plans consists of a combination of (1) helping the student with their current class homework and (2) with filling in learning gaps using the ACE curriculum.
