This company hires and places caregivers in homes without fingerprinting, criminal background checks and driving checks. If a caregiver requests they can receive only 2 hours of training. Caregivers are not kept up to date on their state required online training courses. Some office managers do the courses for the caregivers online. Reports of negligence are denied, uninvestigated and ignored. Caregivers (mandated reporters of abuse or neglect) are accused of having vendetta's when reporting clients concerns of feeling unsafe or being neglected by Caregivers. Caregivers are allowed to make hostile work environments in clients homes causing upset to the clients. Due to lack of training caregivers lift clients in ways that could potentially harm them. Caregivers are not trained to regularly check, change or toilet beadbound incontinent clients very 3-4 hr. Therefore leaving them neglected and wet through the night and in Jeopardy of developing skin breakdown and bed sores. Caregivers are uneducated about providing personal care regularly such as brushing teeth, combing hair, lotioning feet and hands. Disabled clients who cannot use utensils are given messy foods they eat with their hands getting food under their nails and in their hair. Due to being non medical and with lack of training, caregivers tend to ignore medical problems that should be reported. Log books are not placed in the homes and even if placed caregivers are uneducated in how to use them to pass on information to all involved in clients care causing chaos when several caregivers are covering care 24/7. Caregivers regularly leave their shifts before the next caregiver comes in therefore not making verbal report of the condition of the clients as well as happenings of the day. This company takes on clients with medical conditions but due to being Non Medical ignores medical conditions rather than report them to get help for the clients. Night caregivers are allowed to sleep and many times come in and go to sleep before the client is asleep. Clients report caregivers coming into homes, sitting down and looking at their phones not even providing companionship. The company fails when signing clients on to do safety checks if the homes and advise of any unsafe/potentially hazardous conditions as well as assistive devices that could be helpful in assuring safety to the clients. This company assigns an office manager without any caregiving experience to run their Wilmington, IL office, therefore supervising caregivers with no knowledge herself of caregiving. This leaves caregivers with questions/concerns they cannot look to their supervisor for answers to. This is not good quality Homecare for seniors by any stretch of the imagination.
