Join us for this virtual Little Folkies class! It's just like a live class but only on the computer. :) Of course, we don't think kids should be sitting on the screen all day, but this will be such a good way to stay connected and keep the music going through these unprecedented times and beyond.
Little Folkies' family music class welcomes babies, toddlers and preschoolers along with their parents, grandparents and caregivers to come together to sing together like one big family! There is never a dull moment in this class, with the teacher leading the students through fun and engaging finger play activities, hand movements, fun lap songs, call and response singing and hands-on jamming with shakers and wooden kids instruments.
The sweet, gentle and simple songs of the folk tradition have lyrics easy enough for both baby and grandma to sing along to, along with being soothing to children and creating positive early musical memories for them. Here at Little Folkies we share the knowledge that music is at the core of every human being, and we believe that all children should experience genuine, heart felt, acoustic music making which will increase their musical confidence and give them a healthy relationship to music right from the start.
You will receive a zoom meeting invite link upon registration.
If for some reason you have to miss a class, just email us for a free makeup code! We offer two make up classes per session. Sign up at any time!
We can't wait to make music with you! Please make sure your camera is on and your microphone is muted. Also please add your child's name on your screen, and if you want to answer a question please unmute and make sure to mute again after. We ask that caregivers stay engaged throughout the entire class for maximum enjoyment, and please sing and play along as much as you can to model participation and joyful music making for the little ones, which makes it more likely for them to participate, but don't expect them to do so right away, they will most likely enjoy just observing and absorbing. :)
