About

Nurture your child’s musicality with our magical outdoor music class! Our class meets in a meadow, under sheltering trees. Each class features play-along instruments, movement, an interactive puppet show, and our instructor's magical Celtic harp! Warm people, timeless folk songs, and our gorgeous outdoor setting make this an experience the whole family will enjoy.

Did you know that we have recorded albums for all the songs we sing at Meadowlark? Our gentle acoustic recordings are made with care by Noe in her San Francisco home studio, and feature guitar, harp, violin, mountain dulcimer, and percussion. You’ll find that listening to the songs at home with your child greatly enriches your experience of the in-person class, as you become more familiar with the songs we sing.

This season’s album is called Falling Leaves, Rising Voices. Here’s where to find it:

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

We’re outside, so be sure to dress in a way that you and your child will be comfortable. Sun hats and sunscreen are a good idea.

And, if you can, make a day of it! Bring a picnic snack, and enjoy hanging out with the other families who attend our class.

CANCELATION POLICY

Because this is an outdoor class, there are times when environmental conditions make it so that we can’t meet outside. The most prevalent issue has been smoke. Rain is rare, since our class moves indoors for the rainy months of December - February. But rain can occasionally be an issue too.

In the event of non-ideal whether or unsafe smoke conditions, one of two things will happen:

1) Class will be moved indoors, to a location no more than a mile and a half away from our usual meeting place.

2) Class will be canceled and your money refunded to your original payment method.

Please be sure to check email before leaving the house, especially if the forecast looks iffy. If we need to cancel or move indoors, I will notify you via email by 8:00 AM, the morning of.

MAKEUP POLICY

In the event that you have registered for class and can’t make it, please let us know. For absences you let us know about in advance, we are happy to offer a makeup class. You may use up to three makeup classes a semester. Classes may be made up at any Meadowlark location on any day, pending availability. To schedule your makeup class, just email me at noevenable@gmail.com with your desired date and time and I’ll register you.

IN CASE OF ILLNESS

If you or your child is ill, it’s best to keep stay home and take advantage of our makeup policy to make up the class. Well means that we are over the coughing and sneezing period of an illness, and that we have been fever free for at least 24 hours.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at noevenable@gmail.com
