Join us for this virtual Little Folkies class! It's just like a live class but only on the computer. :) Of course, we don't think kids should be sitting on the screen all day, but this will be such a good way to stay connected and keep the music going through these unprecedented times and beyond.

This class is not included in our Membership option as it is a completely different curriculum and it is a cumulative learning experience. Drop In's will only be allowed for the first class on April 16th. Beyond that, we will be a closed group learning together.

Little Folkies' Ukulele Jammers Class is a beginner class for young children, their siblings and there caretakers! Parents learn free!

The curriculum brings a Ukulele player through the basics of TUNING, through playing 1 finger chords, 2 finger chords and 3 finger chords. By the end of Level 1, you have the potential to be able to play some of the most common chords in the folk music idiom, which will give you the freedom to play hundreds of songs, including the Little Folkies Family Band Collections!

There is never a dull moment in this class, with the teacher leading the students through fun and engaging finger strengthening activities, simple songs that help to develop basic techniques as well as to form a comfort with singing along as you strum!

The sweet, gentle and simple songs of the folk tradition have lyrics easy enough for both baby and grandma to sing along to, along with being soothing to children and creating positive early musical memories for them. Here at Little Folkies we share the knowledge that music is at the core of every human being, and we believe that all children should experience genuine, heart felt, acoustic music making which will increase their musical confidence and give them a healthy relationship to music right from the start.
