My primary focus throughout high school and my early years in University was child care and education. I did two different international service trips in high school to Ghana and Thailand, both to teach children how to speak English. This sparked my love for working with children, so I became a swim instructor for ages from 2 to twelve. I loved being able to work with children directly and watch them learn and grow. During my senior year in high school, I was able to work as a part-time assistant teacher for a Kindergarten classroom at a local elementary school and it is to this day one of the most enriching and rewarding experiences of my life. When I entered University, I declared a minor in Education, certain I was going to live abroad teaching children English. While I gained so much from my Education courses, my true calling was politics and I shifted my focus. However, I have missed working with children terribly and am looking to be a warm, attentive, loving member of a family.
