As a young teacher, I pride myself in being able to make meaningful connections with my students, and make education relevant to them beyond the classroom. I completed my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at Queen's University, as a concurrent education student with teachable subjects in English Literature and History. During my undergraduate degree I worked as a youth facilitator and have over 3 years of tutoring experience. As a Queen’s Concurrent Education graduate (Bachelor of Education), and now OCT registered Teacher, I now have over 21 weeks of practicum experience and have worked with a myriad of different learners. My education experiences included experience working with youth at-risk in an off-site alternative school, in locally developed, applied, and academic settings, as well as an adult education program within a federal prison. My duties included working one-on-one with students, creating accommodated and modified lesson plans, teaching social skills and gaining experience with IEPs. I am also certified through the Safe Talk program and have just completed a certification in teaching English Language Learners. I look forward to hearing from you!
