Special Needs Care in Aldergrove

| I’m a mother of a 18 yr old special needs son who has autism. Who will be attending KPU in the fall. My son used signal language and Pecs when he was young for communication. I have volunteered with a Neurodiverse Youth choir so very comfortable and familiar working with special needs. Familiar with NG and tube feds. I have worked with the visually impaired in the past. My son and I enjoy staying at home in our fully fenced yard, going to the park, beach, movies, museums, bowling and for walks. We are also involved in special Olympics and challenger baseball. I enjoy listening to music and baking.

Services specializes in providing community therapies to allow extraordinary individuals to access services in their community and participate in sports, Leasure, therapy services and recreation. We also provide respite, home care, as well as out of home care to home learners, infant-pre-schoolers as well as pre-teen to teenage children with neurological disorders or special needs that require additional support from their caregivers. I am a self/employed person but operate legally as a business.

My passion comes from having special needs within my family. My daughter and son both have developmental and behaviour struggles, my nephew is autistic and my step daughter has fetal alcohol syndrome as well. Over the past 3 years I have worked in a group home as the primary caregiver with a 10 year old autistic girl, non verbal behavioural issues and 4 months with a 16 year old girl who is autistic and non verbal to date. Part of my job is to follow behavioural plans, use the token system, daily charting and written reports, life skills teaching, training other staff house hold duties, and I also have my non-violent crisis intervention instructor certification and specialized autistic non-violent crisis intervention instructor certification. I love working in this field and feel very honoured to be able to make a difference.
