Emily is a certified teacher and trained Montessori Casa assistant who currently works in Early Childhood Education, teaching kindergarten students. Her teaching career has focused to date on elementary education, and she has a great deal of experience working with gifted students, students with special needs (e.g. ADHD), and with students who have English as a second language. She also has ample experience beyond elementary, having tutored junior high and high school English and Social Studies, as well as having taught English and Communications majors at the University of Calgary, and having run creative writing workshops for children and adults. As a result of her 20+ years in media and marketing/communications, Emily is able to bring real-world application and genuine mentoring to her work with students. Her other interests include piano, martial arts, art, and science.
