Working with children and youth has given me a great passion and determination to provide support to those in need. This has also helped expand my verbal and non-verbal communication skills with culturally diverse clients and for those in which communication is challenging. I am a very patient person with a great empathy and a genuine desire to help others. My skills set gained through my work with children and youth within school communities and after school programs has afforded me the opportunity to acquire valuable knowledge of social service programs, mental health programs and child and family support. My communication strengths and ability to connect with children of all ages and establish trusting relationships position me to thrive in such a field. I offer a demonstrated ability to keep calm and be mentally available in any environment catering to troubled children and youth and assessing their needs. Working with children and youth, I try to divert their minds from negativity they may experience by engaging them in productive and fun activities contributing to their physical and mental development.
