| I have 15 plus years combined experience in private childcare, early childhood education as a teacher, teaching assistant and out of school care leader grades K-6. My education includes a diploma in Early Childhood Education and a diploma in Behavioural Sciences. I have raised 3 wonderful children of my own. My most recent employment was working in private childcare, working for a wonderful family, for the past 3 years. If I were to describe myself, I am kind, understanding, a good listener, personable, organized, creative, sporty, great work ethic, young in heart, soul and mind. | Hi Moms & Dads! My name is Katie and I am 22yrs old living in Central Alberta. I have been babysitting ever since I was able to take the babysitters course through the Red Cross back when I was 12. It wasn't long after I found my first part-time child care job where I provided after school care, 3-5 days a week for 2-4hrs for a 6yr old girl who was attending the same school as I at the time. I did this for two year and then babysat casually up until graduating high school. At 17 I started University where I completed a 2yr Social Work Diploma in Calgary and worked as a professional nanny part-time for various families. In my last year of Uni I also worked as a live-in nanny. After my studies I travelled to Australia for 11 months where I worked as an Au Pair. Since coming home I work as a full-time social worker at a youth detox facility while studying towards my bachelors degree online. In the past I have travelled with the families I have travelled to the USA with families to care for their children while the parents would attend work functions. I have experience with newborns (very comfortable) up to age 13. Through my work in social services I have experience with youth 12-17, Autism, and various learning disabilities.
