Hi, my name is Tamar and I have just recently moved to Australia from America on a partner visa. I was attending a community college in the states before moving to Australia and was going to school for early childhood education. Throughout high school I would babysit for local families and I regularly babysat for a family who's child was special needs, so I have some experience in that department as well. I've been a nanny for about 3 years and have also worked in a childcare centre. The ages of children I have worked with is very broad ranging from 8 month old to 13 year old. I believe in engaging with the children and creating a fun environment. While working in a childcare centre on Oahu, part of our program was taking the kids to the beach and pool for about an hour daily so I am CPR and life guard certified. While I was a personal nanny my duties included feeding the children breakfast, engaging in educational activities, taking the kids to after school activities, and occasionally feeding them dinner and putting them to bed. I find childcare to be such a rewarding job because at the end of the day, you're helping someone grow and develop into the person that they become.
