I have experience as a nanny over 30+ years, looking after lots of families including three little boys (aged 5 & 3 year old twins) for a year, two little girls (aged 5 & 7), which grew to three then four little girls over the course of five years as the family grew, two little girls aged 11 & 9 (school pickup, after school care and school holidays) over two years and numerous babysitting assignments. I don’t have children of my own but I was the eldest in my family and have 13 godchildren of various ages (aged from 39 to 5) with whom I’ve been hands on. My nanny style includes home cooked meals, bubble baths, bedtime stories, fun, magic, feeding children’s curiosity and encouraging their imagination. I think that discipline should be kind, boundaries firm and manners important. I believe childhood is a special, unique time and children should enjoy it and build a bank of happy memories.
