Creating a warm and nurturing environment that promotes fun allows the children to learn in a meaningful way which supports their cognitive, social and emotional development. I'm passionate about children's development and believe that acceptance of children for who they are whilst supporting them with a patient demeanor is one of the keys to successful connection. I'm committed to following children's interests, whilst fostering their sense of curiosity and creativity in a supportive environment. Children's wellbeing must come first otherwise they won't feel comfortable and it will inhibit their ability to learn in all the developmental domains. Having previously worked at an international primary school meant that the majority of students were from many different cultures and who had English as a second language. This experience ensures I have learnt the ability to recognise, interpret and react appropriately to situations that could be misinterpreted due to cultural differences. Having lived experience caring for my niece from a baby until 4 years of age has provided me with the skills I consider to complete this work exceptionally well.
