My name is Stephanie and I am a 37 year old female. I have extensive experience in aged care and disability sector, providing care in a range of different environments. I have worked in the community caring for people in their own homes, as well as in residential and respite settings. I have my cert 111 in community services and have worked in this field over the past 10+ years. I finished my university degree in Perth, WA in 2008 in Social Work and have worked in the fields of mental health and drug and alcohol services also. My biggest passion and reason why I love my work as a carer is the difference I can make to someone's life. I always think "what if I, or my family was in need of care? what sort of carer would I want for myself or my family member?' I am a big believer in person-centred care, I am here to help an individual help themsleves. I treat each person with the same respect and dignity that I would want for myself, no matter what age, disability or complex needs the person may have.
