I am a highly qualified Early Childhood Teacher who specialises in working with children 0-5. I have taught in Year levels beyond including Foundations / Prep + Year and 1, 2 and 3. I have worked in an after-school-hours care setting delivering a holiday care program to children 5 - 13 years of age. I am very passionate about early years care. When it comes to early learning and care, my personal philosophy is one that is centred is centred around holistic principles (taking into account each child’s individual emotional, physical, cognitive, spiritual needs). I believe that connection (to others, self and nature) is a vital component of children’s well-being and this is at the forefront of how I show up. When it comes to relating with children, I am lively, energetic, playful and calm. I endeavor to engage in a warm and nurturing manner with the utmost respect. I look to the child as another human with their own innate desires to play, engage, connect and have their needs met. So when something is upsetting the child, I focus on connection and communication to find out what is going on beneath the surface.
