About

Get ready to multiply your math skills! This fun-filled summer camp is designed to help students master multiplication facts and strategies through engaging games, hands-on activities, and collaborative problem-solving. We'll move beyond rote memorization, exploring the patterns and relationships within multiplication, and building a strong foundation for future math success and have fun along the way.

Just Some of the Activities and Projects:
• Things That Come in Groups: Students explore real-world examples of multiplication by identifying items that come in groups (e.g., pairs of shoes, six-packs of yogurt...) and calculating the total number.
• Candy Boxes: This activity involves solving multiplication problems presented in the context of candy boxes, helping students visualize multiplication in a practical scenario.
• Exploring Patterns in Multiplication Chart: Campers investigate the multiplication chart to discover patterns, relationships, and strategies for memorizing and making sense of multiplication facts.
• Four Strikes and You're Out: A fun logical reasoning game that helps students recall multiplication facts.
• Number Talks: Short discussions focused on mental computation strategies for multiplication.
• Which Does Not Belong?: Students analyze sets of numbers or multiplication equations to identify the one that doesn't fit, promoting critical thinking.
• 3 Act Tasks: Students engage in real-world problem-solving scenarios that require them to apply multiplication skills.
• Multiplication Manipulatives: Students will use the multiplication tools of Cuisenaire rods, inch tiles, grid paper, and more throughout the week to visualize multiplication concepts, explore arrays, and discover multiplication patterns.
