About

Antara Asthaayi Dance teaches Indian classical kathak dance, drama & music honoring the guru-disciple tradition. Beginner's classes will introduce fundamental techniques of dance, rhythmic language (taal), and story-telling aspects of kathak while developing discipline & focus. Class size is limited to 7-8 students, ages 6 and above, ensuring personalized instruction.

There are two classes per week for a total of 26 classes for the fall session.

All Monday classes are held at HaoExpression Studio (740 Sierra Vista Ave, Mountain View).

Wednesday classes are held at Bubb Park (680 Barbara Ave, Mountain View) until November 1st. Beginning November 8th, classes will move to the studio for the remainder of the session due to DST.

In the event of inclement weather or other circumstances, classes may be held on zoom.

No classes during Thankgiving Break (November 20th-24th).

First-time students are offered a pro-rated 4 week trial (8 classes). Should the student choose to continue, the balance is charged at that time.

Students wear their own kurta with churidaar/leggings to class during the
trial period. If continuing, students are required to purchase a uniform kurta ($50). Kurtas to be worn with white leggings/churidaar and hair neatly tied back in a bun or braid(s).

Studio classes are drop-off only - please arrive on time in consideration of the studio schedule and bring a water bottle.

For park classes, students to wear thick socks and bring a water bottle and yoga mat.

Students may make up a total of 2 missed classes. Makeup classes are scheduled at the end of the session at the teacher's discretion.

We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel classes in the event of illness or other commitments.
