About the business
Hi, my name is Julie, I have been teaching swim lessons for 15 yrs. I provide in home private and semi-private swim lessons and hold a current certification for First Aid and CPR (adult, child, and infant with AED). My focus is pool safety and drowning prevention through swim instruction. I graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development & Family studies in May 2002.
During my fifteen years of professional work, I have taught, supervised, or planned activities for children from infancy through adulthood. My experience and education has given me the opportunity to be promoted to positions such as, Infant/ Toddler and Pre-K Lead Teacher, childcare facility Assistant Director, Park District Recreational Supervisor, Swim Coordinator, and Head Lifeguard at the YMCA. I love teaching swimming; it brings me such joy to watch individuals master skills, build confidence, and learn to respect the water.
