About the business
Offering individual evaluations complete with individualized recommendations!
Branches: Grand Rapids, MI.; Burnsville, MN.
Step by Step offers practical, hands-on solutions for developmental delay, dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Asperger's and Autism. Utilizing the Neurodevelopment approach of seeing a learning or behavioral concern as a stepping stone to identify underlying areas of development ready for neuro-reorganization. The brain is moldable and the short, intense, done-at-home activities, based on neuro-plasticity research, have children thriving.
Miss Stephanie Lankhorst is a Certified Neurodevelopmentalist through ICAN (the International Christian Association of Neurodevelopment), based out of Spokane, Washington. The organization has been serving families for 12 years. Stephanie has been serving families for 9 years. Her interest was sparked through two opportunities: siblings with genetic and mental disabilities, and working with children from Russia who were in the state orphan program. These two experiences gave her the vision of training parents to work with their own children while providing a supportive network of families and professionals to cheer for them.
Neurodevelopmentalist, Stephanie Lankhorst provides evaluations every four months to her clients, and offers support as the family implements the daily recommended activities. The activities enhance a child's perception of auditory, visual, and tactile information. They also address coordination, balance, vestibular and proprioceptive responses, reflex-integration, auditory processing, and long-term memory, problem-solving and math and reading. Many clients have gained problem-solving skills and reading comprehension skills through the program. Addressing the foundational areas of neuro-organization allow the child to go on to lead a life full of new possibilities as they utilize their potential!
