When I realized that my mother required the help of a caregiver, I didn't know where to start the process of looking for assistance. I felt lost and overwhelmed. I came across the SEWA Home Care website and reached out to the owner of the company, Mala Lama, over the phone to learn about the process of providing care within the home. Although my mother was not officially a client of SEWA Home Care, Mala spent over an hour on the phone with me talking me through the caregiving process. After that phone call, I no longer felt lost and knew in my heart that Mala and her team would provide exceptional care for my mother. Over time, my initial thoughts were reinforced on a daily basis as I watched how Mala and her team treated my mother with compassion and dignity. I can honestly say that it is because of Mala and her team that my family and I were able to keep my mother in her home as she transitioned from palliative to hospice care. While her caregivers worked with my mother, it also became apparent to me that my father would also benefit from the support of Mala's team. Accordingly, Mala and I worked collaboratively to develop a care plan that would effectively meet the needs of both of my parents within their home. After my mother passed away, we decided to continue to provide support to my father as he benefited tremendously from the support of the caregivers working with him through SEWA Home Care. Mala's caregivers provided compassionate and effective care for my mother as well as my father on an ongoing basis. Moreover, the caregivers were reliable, competent and communicative at all times. Mala genuinely cares about the well-being of her clients, their families and her caregivers. She cares deeply about selecting caregivers that reflect her strong commitment toward providing clients with high quality care while honoring their dignity. SEWA Home Care has been providing care for my mother and it has been a tremendous experience for her. Mala did a very thorough home visit and established the level of care needed and then assigned us an excellent caregiver. Geralda even takes my mom for ice cream---her favorite thing in the world! The team at Sewa home care took great care of my mother while we needed extra help. We had an in depth first visit with Ms. Lama. She was thoughtful, patient, and thorough. They got along well and I knew I didn't have to worry about a thing while she was there. Upon first meeting Ms. Lama of Sewa Home Care I was impressed by her calm manner as well as her knowledge and intelligence about working with older adults. I was not to be disappointed. She brought together a team of excellent caregivers to attend to my husband. All were experienced and each had his or her own, particular strengths to offer. My husband had traumatic brain injury as well as several other physical and mental complications and declined over the 6 month period in which Sewa was involved. He was a very challenging person to take care of.
The team worked hard and treated him unfailingly with respect and warmth whether he was cooperating or resisting care. They got to know him and developed relationships with my husband and thus were able to engage him in activities that helped alleviate his considerable suffering.
I relied on them and we learned from one another.
Ms Lama supervised the case closely as it was complicated. She and the office staff were completely accessible,
and I always felt free to contact them with any questions or with a desire to discuss some aspect of my husband's situation. All were a thoughtful support to me and true companions to my husband during his months at home. I am so grateful!

Home Care and More has done a truly outstanding job caring for my elderly father at home over the last 7 months. My father was very independent and was initially very resistant to any home care. In fact, we had worked with two prior agencies without success. The Home Care & More directors took time to meet with myself and my parents at the onset to design a customized care plan to best address my father's needs. They then specifically trained and provided an aide who spoke my father's native language to facilitate his acceptance of services. Subsequent aides have all been highly experienced and compassionate. These aides have allowed my father to live comfortably at his home for much longer than anticipated. The provision of home cooked meals and transportation to his favorite restaurants have made him feel independent and cared for at all times. As a result, he has gained 20 lbs and has looked and felt the best he has in years. Most of all, I feel that the management and the aides truly care for my father. Despite some highly challenging circumstances, Home Care and More has gone above and beyond in providing him with high quality care at all times. The management communicates frequently with me and is understanding and flexible in scheduling. I highly recommend this agency for anyone who needs high quality custom home care for their loved ones. They provide stellar care and treat their clients like family.

Very lovely people to deal with. I only needed help for a month as I was recovering from a surgery. They took care of me very well. The caregiver was excellent, very experienced and knowledgeable . The management was very flexible to work with. Basically, really genuine and honest.

The team at Home Care & More is caring, extremely responsive and flexible. My husband looks forward to his private transportation in the morning and afternoon.
