Nurse Care of North Carolina is a family-owned, RN-operated business that was founded in 2000 and is based in Durham, NC. The original thrust for Nurse Care was to meet the need for high-quality nurse staffing in the Triangle area. The focus quickly turned to in-home care as the requests started coming in from the community. Currently, Nurse Care operates out of three regional offices, Raleigh, Durham and Greensboro. Being Joint Commission Certified, we are aware Home Care agencies are not required to complete this certification, however, we believe that it demonstrates commitment to a higher standard of service.
We have always maintained a family atmosphere of caring and compassionate professionals, and have been able to bring that same feeling and environment to these counties: Durham, Orange, Wake, Person, Granville, Franklin, Johnston, Chatham, Alamance, Rockingham, Caswell, Warren, Nash, Harnett, Moore, Randolph, Guilford, Hoke, Vance, and Lee.

We hired Nurse Care to care for our father 24x7x365 and in less than 3 months he was abandoned by the caregivers on two occasions, once after dark. The care managers have no plan to deal with call outs, they have no bench of "on call" caregivers to step in and cover shifts. We spent hours reviewing and providing input to our father's care plan and it was never even uploaded into their IT portal. A new caregiver was sent to the home and was told that we "just needed someone there", she was never even informed that my Dad had a cognitive impairment. When the "light housekeeping" duties were not being performed, we created a housekeeping task list for each shift, sent it to the care manager who acknowledged receiving it, and then found that it was never shared with our father's caregivers. In spite of the fact that we were prepared to pay 217K a year for home care and clearly expressed our dissatisfaction with the level of care being provided, a care manager never engaged to investigate and failed to visit the home to see what was taking place. When I called to terminate the service I was told "I am fine with that" by the care manager. These people DO NOT CARE about their clients or the quality of care being provided.
