We offer reading and math tutoring, as well as study skills for children, aged five through grade six. As a locally owned and operated concern, j&R develops individual instructional programs for each student. We incorporate visual, auditory andkinesthetic methods of instruction because we know that children do not all learn the same way. We have also successfully worked with many students who may have learning disabilities. We only employ instructors who are experienced, licensed Indiana teachers. Our instructors provide written evaluations for each session, and the following session is planned based on those evaluations. We will move your child along as quickly or as slowly as required. At j&R, our program is "child-driven." Knowing how busy modern families are, we endeavor to schedule your children's instruction to best fit your available time slots. Our basic tutoring program is two 45-minute sessions per week, Monday through Thursday, although we have some students who come three and four days. With prior notification, days can be adjusted when other activities conflict. j&R Tutoring Academy administers an online diagnostic for $35.00. These take 30 - 45 minutes, and we are able to provide immediate results. If parents decide to enroll their child for instruction, this fee is credited toward the first month tuition. We re-administer this exam annually at no additional cost. Our contractual period is 16 weeks with payments every four weeks. At the end of 16 weeks, you may opt to discontinue or go forward with another 16 weeks.
