Nurse was scheduled to come to care for my Dad today. I know the weather was very bad due to the snow, but the nurse never called to state she was not coming. To me that is just a common courtesy that should be given to a patient and a family. His INR was due to be done today to check for his coumadin level. I called the main office this afternoon, and I got the voice mail.
I heard from the nurse for the first time at 6:15 pm, stating she would be here tomorrow morning. When I worked as an RN, if I was not coming to work I was required to call in so people were not looking for me. The nurse who was scheduled to come was not the regularly scheduled nurse (the regular nurse has been wonderful about contacting us and letting us know what was scheduled) . I am very disappointed in this kind of service and lack of communication. Not to mention my father had a set back and flare-up of C-Diff today, which requires me to take him to the doctor on tomorrow, but the nurse will be here hopefully by 9am to discharge him from your service. Based on the service from this nurse I give the above rating.
