This is a long overdue and richly deserved recommendation for Kimberly Kassner and the Empowermind Program. When my daughter started to struggle in math I went to Care.com in search of a tutor. I knew however that I wanted more than just a tutor that could help her with homework or a particular subject and that is exactly what I found. My daughter mastered the math subjects she was struggling with in only one or two sessions, which in itself was astonishing. More importantly, my daughter learned techniques in how to study and retain information that will cross the boundary of every subject in the years to come. Basically, Ms. Kimberly teaches children how to learn, how to study effectively and retain information.

Her teaching methods are absolutely remarkable and have a much more profound and lasting impact than any tutor who teaches a particular subject. In addition, Ms. Kimberly gave my daughter a much needed dose of self-esteem which has proven to be even more invaluable than the learning techniques. Initially my daughter was upset with the idea of going to a tutor after 8 hours of school. After one week she was excited to see Ms. Kimberly and looked forward to every session that followed.

I intend to enroll both my children into Empowermind Programs throughout the years to come and would recommend that every parent do the same, whether your children are struggling or not.

Finally, I write this with the dual perspective of being a parent and as an attorney that has worked with Michigan public school districts for 18 years. I work for a law firm that represents over 450 Michigan public school districts. Empowermind is the only program that I have ever recommended to my school district clients and would continue to recommend without hesitation to any school district as a program to implement for both staff or students.

My 14 year old was barely passing 8th grade. After an Empowerment Session, her attitude was remarkably changed, she began to "own" her attitude and performance. Her grades have gone from E's to B's in just one month. Kimberly has helped my daughter see her potential, create a vision board so as to be in control of where her life is headed, and to take exams well. If Kimberly hadn't entered our lives, I believe Lauren would not have been successful in school. Thanks, Kim!

I decided to take my niece Sam to see Kim for some 1 on 1 time. I was hoping Sam would get some valuable learning skills from this. Not only did she get that, but it also helped her self esteem and confidence. When I witnessed what Kim had taught her in a very short period of time, I was convinced that this would be best for Sam. She is already asking when she can go back for more.

We still laugh when we recall the day that our whole family took the Empowermind workshop together. During the Memory exercise of recalling 20 random words in correct order, my husband nudged me and we looked over and saw our son leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed and his arms crossed over his chest. Our first impression of course, was that he was not paying attention and had disengaged from the experience. And then.... You called on him!!! He sat right up, recalled the words perfectly, and even recited them backwards flawlessly!!! What an ah-ha moment for him and for my husband and I. We all have different learning styles and ways to tap into our GENIUS! Thank you, thank you, thank you Kimberly for not only empowering us with our most powerful and productive learning styles, but also empowering us as parents to better understand how our children learn best. A famous author once wrote, you can feed someone a fish for today or you can teach them to fish so they can feed themselves for a lifetime. As I have shared with others, we learned a boatload in your workshops and tutoring sessions, but it's the belief that there is a GENIUS inside all of us and the valuable strategies of HOW we learn best, that will continue to serve us for a lifetime. My son spent 2 days at a workshop with Kim. At the time he was in middle school and failing classes such as spanish and art because he didn't "like" the teachers. Empowermind teaches far more important lessons than the mechanics of learning. The following two years, my son slowly built himself up by taking the lessons learned and applying them to building relationships with his teachers. He is now a straight A student, with fabulous teacher reviews. He has a zest for learning now that was never there before. He asks for help and is even taking additional courses outside of school because he wants more knowledge in his areas of interest. Thank you Empowermind! My daughter has struggled in school for years. As a 5th grade student in a private school she was failing 1/2 of her classes.
