Daytime Services:

-Breastfeeding support (referral to a lactation consultant if needed)
-Education on infant care including soothing and comfort skills
-Support for emotional and physical recovery after childbirth
-Foster family bonding
-Spend time with baby so family will have time to peacefully rest
-Run errands and household organization
-Organize nursery for optimal infant care
-Preparing light meals, beverages and snacks for mom, dad and siblings
-Helping parents figure out how to use all that stuff they registered for
-Cleaning/sterilizing bottles and/or breast pump paraphernalia
-Preparing bottles for future feeds
-Light housekeeping such as laundry and dishes
-Cord and circumcision care
-Demonstrate newborn care to parents such as bath, burping, swaddling, soothing, etc.
-Sibling care & adjustment
-Accompany parents to pediatric appointments
-Monitoring visitors and taking messages
-Offer a listening, non-judgemental ear
-Phone contact as needed
-Many other services to assist new parents

Overnight Services:

-Keeping detailed nighttime log of newborn(s) activities and moods
-Feeding, soothing, swaddling and laying your newborn(s) back to sleep
-Changing newborn(s)
-Light housekeeping such as laundry
-Re-stocking and tidying nursery
-Cleaning/sterilizing bottles and breast pump paraphernalia
-Preparing bottles for the next day
-Many other services to assist new parents

As your nighttime doula, I work evening hours to allow you some much-needed rest. No more sleepless nights or getting up every 2-3 hours. During the night, I observe your baby, watching for feeding cues and sleep cycles. I can either feed your newborn(s) by bottle (pumped breastmilk or formula) or if you are breastfeeding I will bring baby to your bedroom for nursing. I will then burp, change, swaddle, and rock your newborn(s) back to sleep.
