Classic Tutoring

My name is Susan Hoyer, MA.Ed. I have been working in education for 28 years. During this time, I have taught in Elementary, High School, and University classrooms. I have been a school principal and the Director of a national tutoring center.

Ihold a California Teaching of Reading Certificate and I specialize in Language Arts, English Literature, Reading, and Writing. Working with Elementary children is a joy and I love watching the excitement of a young child learning to read independently. I have taught high school English and AP English and always enjoy every minute of working with this age group. I have also taught students in Master s level and Teacher Credential programs and can help you format your papers and theses at this level of your education as well. My philosophy of education is to seek traditional outcomes by using today s methods and techniques: Seek the solid foundations and in-depth knowledge of yesterday while using and mastering all the technology and creativity of today s educational methods. People first! I believe in focusing on relationships and then the work. The work will follow and be more successful as a result. It s a good day when my students and I have a breakthrough moment in some area where there has been struggle in the past.
