It started with a recommendation by a mobile veterinarian for a mobile pet groomer who also does cats. My cat had gotten into some poison ivy and I got the worst of it from her loving cuddles with me. I had already wanted to get her washed/groomed with a flea & mite treatment, this just made it more necessary before having the vet over to update her shots and give an overall exam.

Based on the recommendation I looked up Sandra Blakely and "Chase N Tails", watched a news story video of her business, then made a call & left a text message. I explained that I am disabled and cannot get the cat into a carrier for transport anywhere; told her what I needed done and asked what she'd recommend for sedating the cat before her appointment. I waited for 2 days without receiving a response, then called & texted again. By then it was Friday and I would have to wait another several days into next week to schedule an appointment. I finally got a text with an excuse that her "phone lines were backed up" and a recommendation to take my cat to a vet "that does grooming"... as if she hadn't read or listened to my messages!

I answered back saying that would have been "my first idea"; explained again that I was disabled; and repeated that it was a mobile vet who recommended Ms. Blakely's services. No reply; I "poked" back the day after; then told her I was tired of this and would submit an unfavorable review of her business. That brought about a long reply that said basically the same as before as if she hadn't caught on yet that I was disabled. I answered that by now my cat had cleaned the poison ivy oil out of her fur so it wouldn't be a concern - but I still wanted to get her washed & groomed before an appointment with a vet (mobile). At this point no other answer, apology or offer to schedule.

Questions: Doesn't she deal with dogs that have gotten into far worse than my cat's poison ivy? Uhhhh - doesn't she use gloves, anyway, when washing other dogs & cats? Couldn't she wear latex gloves when washing my cat... especially if there was a concern about the poison ivy?

Her excuses didn't make sense to me and her conduct was most unprofessional, insensitive & irresponsible. One simple returned phone call (as requested) in a couple of minutes would have answered all questions & concerns for both of us. I still don't understand her actions or reticence to even call. Obviously, I do NOT recommend her services for mobile pet grooming.
