Do you have a child with an emotional behavior disorder (EBD) or an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) experiencing challenges with interpersonal skills and socialization? Are you having difficulty finding specially trained people who can help teach socialization and social emotional competencies?

At this time, BASES for Kids is offers individual services to support behavioral achievement and social emotional success. We are also planning small social skills groups to help meet the needs of these precious individuals. These small groups will usually consist of 2-3 individuals with a disability and a few neurotypical peers. This not therapy nor is it a daycare program. Rather, it is a coaching and tutoring service to develop social awareness and interpersonal skills.

In order to provide individualized service, there will be an intake and assessment process to determine your child's strengths, challenges, interests and preferences. This information will be used to match your child with the appropriate group and to develop an individual service plan.

Individual supports and services can begin immediately at locations convenient for you. Depending on the level of interest, the target start date for small group classes is as early as August 1 and no later than September 1, 2012. Specific dates will be forthcoming as the service is developed. In addition, social emotional training groups are planned to occur 2-3 weekdays for 2-3 hours, depending on need.
