We provide customized post hospital care, customized post rehab care, in-home care, respite care, home making, medication reminders, medication management, meal preparation, restorative exercises, errands and socialization.
We specialize in post rehab and post hospital stay especially for those with movement disorders, Parkinson's, PSP, strokes and generalized muscle de-conditioning. We help people with movement disorders to get back on their feet as quickly as possible to the extend that is physically possible especially after a hospital stay.
Our services can be offered in one of two places;
#1: Where ever you choose to call HOME......your private residence, your assisted living suite or in the home of another family member.
#2. In our small, exclusive and all private pay adult senior care home.
Our services are delivered under 4 departments;
#1. CARE-GIVING: services are provided by home care aides, companions and certified home care aides in the comfort of your home or where ever you or your loved one chooses to call home.
#2. Chronic Illness & Symptom Management: These services are designed to reduce frequent trips to the hospital and rehab facilities. The care programs are designed by nurses and geriatric care specialist and can be offered in your home.
#3: POST HOSPITAL, POST REHAB & RESPITE CARE AT OUR GROUP HOME.
This is short term or long term care & nursing care offered 24/7 at our group home. Some families use this service to transition from the hospital or rehab to home.
#4. CARE MANAGEMENT, CARE COORDINATION & CARE NAVIGATION: These services are provided by geriatric care managers. The goal is to make long distance care giving easier and more gratifying for the long distance or the very busy family caregiver.
With us, you will only pay for the care you need. There are no minimum number of hours of care, you pick your caregiver and the payment plan that suits you unique situation.

Age in Place allowed us to keep my mother at home until she passed peacefully after a long illness. The care the team put in place genuinely kept a very fragile situation manageable and gave me, my sisters and my father the support we needed to navigate this incredibly hard situation. My mother was a nurse, my father and I are doctors and my husband is a nurse and I can say without a doubt the care we received was excellent.

We hired Age in Place to care for an elderly family member in our home after she fell and injured her back. We had a team of four to five trained caregivers from the agency who rotated, working with us for the last six months. They were professional, easy to work with, and dedicated to providing the best possible care. We could not be happier with the results.

Lu and her staff are phenomenal! Several of their associates, including Lu herself, came to care for my wife, involving her antibiotic drip line, etc., and they were caring and compassionate. It was well worth the cost. They even brought us a beautiful orchid recently, and also at another date some lovely cookies and a beautiful card. We were safe in their hands and would highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best for their loved one in their time of need

Words cannot express my experience with his team of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals. At a time in my life when needing a knee replacement and now a shoulder replacement . My experience with Lou and with Erica for my knee replacement, took excellent care of me. Now with Lou and Betty for my shoulder replacement was the best care I ever received. Betty is the best care giver I have had. She was so caring and gentle, I could not ask for better care. I absolutely love this group and what they represent and would recommend their services to anyone that has a real interest in not only a lifestyle improvement, but an interest in living life to the fullest. Words can not and will never EVER be able to express my experience with his team of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals. At a time in my life when needing help was a figment of my imagination, this team made getting help a reality. First of all, they all listened to my concern with sincerity and a deep concern. Secondly, the information and instruction offered was very easy to understand and follow. My takeaways from their meetings not only positioned me to improve during a dreadful season of my life, but I have made the teachings and recommendations apart of regiment for good health, FOR LIFE! We are so grateful to Age In Place and Lou for taking such great care of our dad. He took a pretty bad fall and was treated at ER and sent home to recover and heal. We called Age In Place late on a Friday evening and they returned our call within an hour and helped setup a visit to our parents independent living facility the following day.
Lou visited my dad Saturday and Monday to clean his wounds, apply antibiotic ointments, change his dressings, and help with sleep and his sling. We are confident my dad would not be recovering so quickly and so well without Lou's visits.

The agency is top notch. Lou and her team cared for my father in the critical last 6 months of his life. I initially hired Age in Place for their flexibility to come in the morning for a few short hours but when my father suddenly became critically ill, they adjusted and were immediately able to cover day and night shifts. All of the staff were skilled, compassionate and very conscientious. They gave my father very good care up until his passing. I would without hesitation recommend their services.

I would like to thank Age In Place-Sacramento, Lou Basinal, and her staff for the outstanding care my parents have been receiving in their home. I give them the highest rating possible! My 95 year old parents are living in their home of many years. Seven months ago my Mom fell and broke her dominant arm, which prevented her for doing just about anything. Lou and her staff responded immediately and began providing in-home care for my parents. The staff provide caring and conscientious support for my parents, treating them like family members. They are extremely flexible in their care schedule, as my parents have a number of doctor, dental, and other appointments. Lou and her staff are professional and responsive and staff are trained and knowledgeable in caring for the elderly. My parents would not be able to remain in their home if it were not for Age In Place's very competent, loving, responsible, and professional staff. They all go above and beyond in any expectations I have. And, they are reasonable in the costs for their high level care. I highly recommend Age In Place-Sacramento.

I give Lou Basinal and her Little Shangri-La convalescent home and Age-in-Place elderly in-home care staff my highest recommendations. In recovering from a severe respiratory illness requiring hospitalization, my elderly mother recovered at Shangri-La for nearly four months. The facility is clean. Billing is reasonable. Lou is easy to work with. Her staff is responsive and empathetic. They ensured my mother, who had difficulty breathing, was comfortable, including going out of their way to make meals and seemingly always rearranging pillows based on my mother's requests. Coming from a career as an RN, Lou expertly navigated the health system during Covid times to ensure in-home PT visits, doctor appointments, prescriptions and equipment requests were fulfilled.
My mother's illness unfortunately caused permanent disability. Upon my mother's return home, we hired Lou again as one of her first clients for in-home assisted care. Arriving once per week, Lou and/or her staff took excellent care of my mother, performing bathing duties, grocery shopping, and light housekeeping. The relationship, already cemented at Little Shangri-La, blossomed further. My mother considered Lou a dear friend, often remarking, "I don't know where I'd be without Lou."
My mother's illness unfortunately caused permanent disability. Upon my mother's return home, we hired Lou again as one of her first clients for in-home assisted care. The Shangrila-La Care Home very Clean, excellent food, the Care are phenomenal, All Caregiver are very helpful, kind, attentive, caring, the owner are Registered Nurse and Anything possibly can happen they know what to do. Rehabilitation and Activities are excellent.
Beyond word I can say more. All I know I will choose this care Home for my love one and recommend to everyone.

I highly recommend Age In Place, Lou and her associates helped my wife and I take care of my father in his time of need. They were very professional, loving and caring to my father. He looked forward to the visits with him. They would come to our house to helped my father with his shower three times a week.

I highly recommend hiring Age in Place to take care of your loved family members. We found ourselves in need of care for our father in December 2020. At that time, it was very difficult to find caregivers due to the overwhelming number of COVID patients. Lou and her team provided our father with a high level of care in a very compassionate, respectful manner and treated him with the utmost dignity. We all trusted that Lou was giving our father the best care at all times.

I am sending this review for others that might be curious about using the services of Age In Place. My opinion is that there are not enough stars to rate there services they are Angels!!
My first meeting with Lou Brahia was at my mothers home she is 89 yrs. old and we knew right then we were in good hands.
Lou and her associates Grace and Sharia have taken care of my mother needs and wishes!!
I live 400 miles from my mother so its difficult seeing her all the time but since using Age in Place I now sleep better at night knowing that she is taken care of.

My daughter contact Lou on a Sunday to get someone in on Monday as I had Covid and the hospital would not keep me (oxygen level was only 84) Lou was here on Monday and the girls the rest of the week. Exceptional care and really helped. My daughter was doing all this out of state and Lou was wonderful to her and her concerns. Thank you

We had a team of competent care-givers (including hospice), but Age In Place set the bar with a 5-star GOLD STANDARD - consistently exceeding the required basics. Lou, Grace & Wendy provided professional and compassionate care for my 93 year old father's last weeks. They engaged him in unique ways, thinking beyond the basics of their responsibilities, to make the most of each interaction. We are so blessed to have had the gift of their partnership.

My father needed assistance on New Years Day while being isolated for a positive Covid test. Lou provided needed assistance and care for him when the family was not able to due to Covid restrictions. I am sure will be need Age in Place's services again in the future. Thank you for being there for us!

My 90 year old mom was diagnosed with Covid on a Monday morning in the ER and was returned to her independent living facility confused, weak, and all alone. By Monday evening Age in Place had attended to her care, told us what needed to be done and working with our hospice team gave my mom professional and compassionate care. Lou and her team were a great comfort to our entire family knowing my mom was not alone, nor frightened. They were a blessing in a time of sadness and challenge.
