My name is Lyndsay. I am the mother of a 16 month old son, and I do an in-home daycare service. I have worked in the daycare field for over 10 years. After I had a child of my own, I decided to stay home and take care of a friend s little ones along with my own little one. I have taken care of kids whose ages ranged from newborn all the way to preschool.
I maintain rates that are less than many area daycares, but are still high enough for me to provide two snacks, breakfast, and lunch. All meals are wholesome and healthy, but I can also accommodate reasonable nutritional needs, or accept meals and snacks provided by the parents, if requested.
I charge a daily rate of $35 dollars per child, paid either once or twice per month (whatever you prefer). You only pay for days where I have watched your child, so vacations, sick days, etc. are all free of charge.
In addition to providing snacks and meals, I provide toilet training, as well as several fun and educational activities, including structured games, free play time, writing skills for preschoolers, ABC S, shape recognition, and number recognition for toddlers. I feel reading is very important and at least 3 to 4 stories are read every day. Crafts start at 16 to 18 months with homemade paints, and typically parents are showered with art projects and homemade gifts from their children throughout the year. I involve the kids in everything I do. I garden during the summer, and I take them out with me and let them see and do what I am doing. We have an onsite playground, as well as a small hill for winter sledding.
I also take the children on trips (always letting the parents know ahead of time both for their planning and for permission). Every Friday is Library day, where we go and listen to story time and check out books. I do frequent trips to the Buffalo Zoo in the summer time and to the Niagara Falls Aquarium during the whole year. Lockport Parks and Olcott Splash Pad trips are also taken during the summertime. All of these are included in the daily rates; there are no extra charges for trips. (*Car seats must be provided or left with the child each trip-day).
I am CPR and First Aid certified. Daycare payments are tracked for tax purposes, with receipts provided and a W-10 form is given as proof of childcare costs. References can be provided as well as letters of recommendation by both former clients and former daycare coworkers.
