Lead Governess for Northern California.
Family in Woodside is seeking an experienced, long term, highly educated (and ideally bilingual) Governess for two active toddlers who can educate, develop curriculum, coordinate enrichment classes
(arts, music, sports), motivate, supervise and perform general care.
Expected schedule: Monday through Friday (including holidays and travel-planned and last minute as requested) from 7am till 5pm. Schedule is flexible, subject to change and it may include overnight shift or any other shift coverage (if other nanny-team member is sick/traveling). We are also looking to make this a rotating schedule as we're seeking a weekend governess as well. So the schedule might change and be a rotation.
Essential Job requirements:
Highly experienced working full-time positions with toddlers and young children: 7+ years of full-time experience.
Proven work stability with prior employments of more than 24 consecutive months per placement, but ideally 36 months minimum per placement.
Highly proficient in early childhood education, college degree or teaching credentials strongly preferred (exceptions will only be made in exceptional circumstances). Governess has prior experience with early childhood development program creation/planning educational activities.
Early childhood educational background paramount for curriculum development (weekly to monthly), management of children's monthly, quarterly and yearly learning objectives, as well as willingness to proactively partner with the current nanny team on curriculum training and teaching development.
Prior experience in a formal, highly structured, high profile household environment.
Highly proficient with iPhones, Mac products, Google suite: mail, docs, sheets, slides, drive and calendar.
Flexible with all work schedules and shifts, willing, able and available to work weekends, holidays, nights and overnights as needed (i.e. when other care-givers are sick/on vacation). (This position requires having no other employment commitments due to principals' travel schedule.)
Willing and able to travel; travel with prior positions required.
Strong communication skills (English), both verbal and written required.
Excited, capable participant in myriad athletic activities with children.
Commitment to manners, generosity and grace for children's emotional development.
Eager researcher of local children's classes/activities/tutors and happy to coordinate, drive child to, attend with child.
Bilingual: Spanish (preferred) or Mandarin (must have Northern accent).
