My name is Shanae. I'm currently a student at NOVA studying biological sciences. In January 2013 I will be transferring to Chamberlain College of Nursing to finish my bachelors in nursing. Before I was born my mother was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and the disease progressed after I was born. By the time I was 9 she was confined to a wheelchair. I never had a childhood because I spent my days taking care of my mother. I would bath her, transfer her from her wheelchair to her bed and toilet. I fed her because she could no longer feed herself; as well as making sure she received her daily exercise. For 18 months I also worked for a woman with Muscular Dystrophy. I worked weekday mornings and every other weekend. I assisted with getting her dressed and transferring from her bed to the wheelchair. She required daily assisting with showering and other daily tasks. I have experience with caring for children with ADHD along with type 1 diabetes, and progressed stages of Alzheimer's. I'm comfortable with administering medicine if needed. I'm very reliable and I'm available on short notice. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions. Thank you!

Shanae has been my daughter's care provider for the past year. She is very reliable and willing to work most any time I have requested. She is very intelligent and trustworthy and able to handle all task assigned with out additional explanation and/or reminders. I highly recommend her.
