In general my interests are very expansive, whether it is an indoor or outdoor activity. I'm generally willing to go for it! However my personal favorite interest is music. In the field of child care I have worked with toddlers through children up to the age of 10. In addition I've worked with special needs children, young adults and adults up to the age of 55. My experiences in both child care and special needs range from simply providing food to removing soiled laundry. My work in these fields has been an ongoing theme in my life for many years. I originally began by volunteering at the local church's Sunday School. From there, I continued on to work as a junior staff member in the day camp program, which was created for the children of the staff. After my work at there, I began to further my volunteer work by joining the Best Buddies program. During this time, I continued further into the field of child care, by doing my senior project at my former elementary school. Following my graduation from high school, I did a summer internship in Ilsan, South Korea, where I worked as an around-the-clock staff member in a residential program for those with disabilities. Upon my return to Connecticut, I worked for a camp, which focuses upon those with special needs. I have continued working there for the past 4 years in both the summer and weekend based programs. I must be honest though in saying that for me working at Camp has changed from a job, into a vocation. I am now a full time support coach and work most weekdays in a group home.
