Hi Families! The times that I have worked with people with special needs have been the most rewarding and satisfying times in my life. Two summers ago I was fortunate enough to get to work at a facility that did adapted recreation for kids and adults with disabilities. It was so wonderful to be able to see and to assist people in performing different activities that they never thought they would be able to achieve. That summer I got to work with an array of people with all sorts of abilities and it was one of the most heart-warming times of my life and I think about it everyday. I also am a volunteer chaperon for trips for adults with disabilities which is a really fun and rewarding program to help out with.
