I have about 4 years experience working with children who are non-verbal, Deaf, autistic, and have speech delays. I worked with a boy, 5 years old, with verbal apraxia, who was also autistic and I was able to work with on communicating in sign language and then practice reading with him. We also enjoyed making cognitive games fun during regular outings to the park and when playing games. In addition, I also worked with a girl of 11 years of age who also had autism, Deaf, and unable to speak clearly and I was actually trained in ABA methods in order to better meet her needs. I had a tremendously positive experience working with these children and their families. I would love to work with children who may have similar differences, and fall-in-love with my work again.
