I have worked with special needs children and adults for 7 years. I have seen and have done pretty much everything. I have not done a feeding tube and I'm not overly comfortable with that. I have given showers, assisted in restroom use, feeding, wheelchair transfers (with Hoyer lift). I have given medication and have worked on individual service plans. I love the people I work with, because they are just that, people. I dislike the "stigma" that people have about with individuals with disabilities. This community of people have been the most loving, accepting and non-judgmental people I've ever have had the pleasure to work with. I am direct service person trained, First Aid and CPR trained too.
