I have some experience working with children with special needs. 3 yrs babysitting occasionally on nights and weekends for my moms friend who had an 8 yr old girl with cerebral palsy when I was in my teens. I also worked for 2 related families for approximately 8 months who had a home for special needs children of all ages. Responsible for 6-12 children at a time. All had major disabilities. I grew attached to each of them. My duties included everything from feeding, diapers, rocking, reading, giving medication, bathing and just loving them. Unfortunately, after witnessing physical abuse, neglect and over medicating the children, my sister and I called the State and eventually the children were removed from the homes.
