I have worked for a residential home where I provided care for individuals who are mentally handicapped. All four residents that I worked with were limited to wheelchairs and required assistance in hygiene, medications, eating, and toileting. I have experience with colostomy bags as well as g-tubes. It was such a rewarding experience to do little things to brighten their day. We would schedule outings to keep the residents entertained and partake in some of their hobbies during downtime. I love being busy and on my feet, and I always am finding something to do! I am hoping to attend grad school to become a physician assistant, but until then I plan on helping within my current capacity. I am also currently in training to become a CNA.
