The previous two years, I worked as a therapeutic recreation instructor working with adults and kids (ages 7-21) with all kinds of developmental disabilities. Our goal was to teach life skills in community settings with a focus on positive instruction and redirection techniques. I also provided respite care privately for two boys with disabilities, aged 16 and 13, as well as babysitting for a 9-year-old girl with disabilities. Along with that, I have two years of experience as a part time nanny of two girls (ages 3 and 7). Having breakfast, getting dressed, taking and picking them up from school, going to library story times and playing were some of my responsibilities.
