I am a creative and dedicated professional, successful in providing a calm and encouraging environment for students and aging adults that like to flourish. In the past, I have worked with children as a preschool and Art teacher in a home-schooling group. For the last three years, I have worked as an activity coordinator for the elderly; organizing and implementing activities for both one-on-one situation, as well as groups. I gained experience in working with people that range from high to low function. I consider it a good day if I am able to put a smile on a person's face by tossing a balloon or wheelchair dancing with them; to see the twinkle in the eye of someone who can no longer talk to you, to bring calmness to a fearful person with dementia or to help a confused and frustrated aging person to express that frustration by writing in a journal. My focus was always to somehow connect and touch the heart of that person, even if it was in the smallest way, then, I would see that they were really touching mine.

Myla was hired to provide activities for 5-11 older adults, ages mid-60s to 98, at an elder care facility. I managed this home. Myla has a wonderfully kind, calm, and cheerful personality. She provided various activities for this older adult setting. Some of these activities included reading, music, exercises, outdoor trips and 1-on-1 interaction. Myla did a wonderful job getting to know each client and developed individual specific activities to include all clients - many with varying degrees of physical and/or mental challenges. I would highly recommend Myla for any job/position, especially a service oriented position with individuals who have challenges.
